This very large 12-inch solar post light measures 11.8" \ 11.8" \ 5.9" and features a black-treated stainless steel body with a glass shade. It has a pre-drilled base with mounting hardware, an IP54 rating, a full size solar panel, a 5200mAh rechargeable battery, and a 5W 2800K LED rated at 450 lumens. It is well designed and impressive in size, but it is very expensive for the brightness provided.
The stainless steel outdoor solar light should last for a long time since it is IP54 rated and should be more rust resistant than painted steel. The 2800K light has a nice warm color. Easy to install with instructions included. Remote control works but needs to be pretty close to the solar light. I find the light not bright enough for me since I place it on an outdoor table to illuminate flowering plants.
This thing is big and heavy. It won't be blowing away even if you don't bolt it down. The solar panel is large and easily runs all night long (but it is summer here). It sheds an even light in all directions. However, it doesn't produce much light, even when tuned all the way. I can't really call it attractive, but you can judge that for yourself. See picture. Overall, it is solidly built, has a very large panel, and shines all night. It's just not what I was expecting in terms of brightness and looks.
Solar is the way to go. Solar has come far from where they first started. The waterproof feature will ensure it works for a long time. Its bright and it charges up to full capacity in 4 hours abd will easily run all noght. Its equipped with dusk to dawn and its maintence free.
I got this solar light for a pillar in my front yard, and it is the perfect size and style for that space. The 12-inch square design looks substantial and properly proportioned instead of resembling a small pathway light placed on top of a large column. The modern shape also gives the front yard a more finished appearance. The 2800K light produces a soft, warm glow that looks welcoming rather than harsh or overly bright. This is best for decorative accent lighting and visibility around an entrance not for lighting the entire yard like a security floodlight. I also appreciate the convenience of the solar, dusk-to-dawn design. There is no wiring to run, and the light turns on automatically when it gets dark. It looks great on the pillar and creates exactly the effect I wanted.
This is a very striking fixture at dusk, but looks good during the day. I like the shadow box effect and the muted black color. It can mount on a post or column, or even a wall, and is a low profile warm light for walkways or to add a light feature in a garden. What I particularly like is that it does not have glass or white panes -- the entire piece is one color, the light comes from the coved areas in the shadow boxes, and is very sophisticated looking. The install was fairly straightforward with a masonry bit and the included plate. No replacement bulbs. Make sure the solar panel gets at least 6 hours of sunlight, and this will glow for most of the night. Sellers says up to 12 hours. This is well made, arrives ready to install, and fits a 12" or larger post.
. The solar capability is a real convenience when it comes to exterior lighting and can save a lot of money in the long run. There is no need to run electrical service out to every column or post, which can be a significant advantage when lighting a driveway, garden, or property boundary. With the 5200mAh battery and up to 12 hours of illumination, the fixture is designed to handle the night from a good day of charging. The 2800K warm white light is also a good choice. At 450 lumens, it provides useful illumination while retaining the comfortable character I want from landscape lighting. What really distinguishes this fixture, though, is the pattern of light it throws. The stainless steel structure and glass interact with the illumination to create something visually interesting around the fixture rather than simply producing a pool of light. The light pattern is as interesting as the design itself, and having all of that without running electrical wiring makes the solar capability a real convenience.
This fixture runs on AC 100 240V and uses warm 2800K/3000K-ish light. It looks very expensive and is really good quality. The low, wide square shape with glass panels has a very clean architectural appearance. At almost 12" 12", it's substantial enough for a brick/stone column without looking undersized. The warm light looks gorgeous against brick or stone. Because it's hardwired, you won't have the fading and inconsistent runtime you sometimes get from solar lights. The warm output is primarily decorative or accent lighting. This is exactly what I wanted on my entrance pillars. Also, IP54 is decent weather protection, but not exceptional. I'd be happier with IP65 for something completely exposed to driving rain. I put it on a pillar where the wiring can be properly weatherproofed by the guy who installs it. The design is beautiful enough that I think it's worth considering. And aesthetically, I like this MUCH more than a traditional lantern style post light. On stone or brick pillars, two of these, one on each side of an entrance looks seriously high end.
Our mailbox sits right at the end of the driveway and in the dark it basically disappears, more than once we've had to squint to find it after dark. Wanted a fixture that would actually light up the post itself instead of another cheap solar stick that fades out by nine. We already had power run out to that post when we had our driveway rebuilt, so tying this into it was straightforward, just had to connect the wires and mount the base down. The glow is a warm white, not that stark blue-white a lot of outdoor LEDs put out, and it throws enough light that the post is now the first thing you notice pulling into the driveway instead of the last. Feels a lot more finished than I expected for something on a mailbox post, more like a fixture you'd see out front of a nicer house down the street.

I really like the modern look of this outdoor post light and how substantial it feels in person. The stainless steel construction and glass give it a much nicer appearance than the basic outdoor fixtures we have used before. My husband installed it on one of our outdoor columns, and the included junction box and mounting hardware made the installation pretty straightforward. Once installed, the 11.8 inch square size looks substantial without overwhelming the column. The 2800K warm white light is especially nice because it provides plenty of illumination without looking overly bright or harsh. At 1530 lumens, it lights up the surrounding area well and makes the entrance feel more welcoming at night. I also appreciate the powder coated finish and weather resistant construction since this will be exposed to changing outdoor conditions. The glass shade distributes the light nicely and gives the fixture a clean, upscale appearance. Overall, the quality, brightness, modern design, and solid construction make this a beautiful upgrade for an outdoor gate, driveway, or column.
The light arrived quickly and was well packaged. This is a heavyweight light (sounds like an oxymoron, right? LOL), with great visibility and brightness. It is not difficult to wire in to an existing electrically wired gate post or walkway post. The LED lights not only shine brightly, but they are energy efficient and long lasting. The metal is a thick gauge, so I expect this to last for years to come. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think the price is a bit high. Most range from $80 to $160, this one is about mid-range, but if they kept it below $100 it would be a 5-star review for certain.
The hard-wired post light is almost 12"x12". The LED lights are on all four sides, at the top, and point downward. The sides are opaque and not very reflective. Thus, most of the light is thrown downward, not sideways, creating the cross-hatch pattern seen in the pictures. There is a waterproof plug for wiring (using a quick-clip feature for the wires) and pre-drilled mounting holes. The fixture mounts by first securing the base using the mounting holes, connecting the wire harness, and then securing the top to the base with screws along two sides. Using a lux meter app on my phone, various readings were taken. Directly under the center of one light, two inches away, a reading of 13,000 lux was obtained (~420 lumens). At 1 foot away from the side, the meter read 50 lux (~60 lumens). Note, all sides read the same from the different points. In sum, this fixture throws more light down than to the side. It is good to mark a post or pathway using posts. However, it doesn't throw enough light to the side to effectively illuminate a path or stairway itself. PROs: - thick, durable metal fixture that is well-painted. - design and construction appear to make the fixture quite weather resistant. - with a masonry bit and tool to make mounting holes, it is an easy install. ~10-15 minutes per fixture to align, drill, and screw the fasteners in. Uneven stucco surfaces should also likely use caulk along the bottom; so, add time for that. - modern aesthetic that looks good on large pillars even when not illuminated. CONs: - for such a large fixture, pulling direct from 120V-220V, along with the cost of the fixture; there is surprisingly no options. The light color cannot be changed. There are no options to throw more light to the side versus down.

This is a very heavy and solid light for outdoor posts, I am just not sure the best way to use it and it is going to likely require an electrician to install. To me the price is a little high for what it is, but that's me hiring an electrician. If I could install this myself, I would probably go five stars and it is only a set of one. I was hoping that it would it least be a two pack.
